How the role fits in The role will require a confident and motivated individual to work as part of a dynamic team in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Test Manager, you will be operating as a Test Team representative across a variety of projects with both technical and non-technical teams. You will embed yourself within the delivery teams to ensure that internal and external development meets the requirements of the business. From working within Agile delivery teams you'll be responsible for everything testing related on a given project, from assisting the developers with testing technical tasks through to liaising with business areas for User Acceptance Testing. The role day to day Attending all Agile ceremonies within a delivery team. Formulating test scenarios from User Story acceptance criteria written primarily in BDD. Initiating walkthroughs of test plans with business owners to discuss and agree test coverage. Executing technical and non-technical tests in a timely manner. Raising and tracking defects to completion within a delivery team. Initiating demos of the stories/functions in test for business owner sign off. Promoting, driving and implementing quality within the delivery team to achieve a common goal. Escalating impediments to Senior/Lead Test Analysts. Identifying test candidates for test automation regression test suites. Running manual and automated tests. Working positively and communicating professionally across the team in order to make an effective contribution to team tasks and team spirit. What you'll need to help make the best of the role Technical Skills Building Test Plans and scripting Test Scenarios from User Stories, BDD and functional specs/workflows. Working knowledge of JIRA Agile (Greenhopper). Basic SQL skills with an Oracle database using Squirrel. Understanding of systems and architecture (DB's, Servers, Networks etc.). Handcrafting a variety of file types to simulate system processes. Using Postman to test API's. Understanding the value of and where to apply different testing techniques A working knowledge of Google Drive. Using Jenkins to initiate test automation. The ability to analyse cucumber reports. Good general IT knowledge. Experience Required ISEB/ISTQB certification in Software Testing at Foundation level. At least 12 months experience of working as a tester in an agile development environment. General Skills (non-technical) Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
