As a member of this team, you will provide our eCommerce and Operations Technology groups with IT Operations support for our external sites and internal facing applications. You must be a positive and proactive problem-solver with the ability to think on your feet while providing excellent customer service. What you’ll do: As a Custom Ink WebOps Engineer, you’ll work daily with about 6 other WebOps teammates, as well as our Software Engineering and Data Analytics teams. You’ll manage and provide support for our staging and production Cloud Infrastructure, mostly in AWS. Daily tasks will include troubleshooting and resolving IT related issues to include Linux, Chef automation, application code deployments, and application performance. Additional tasks will include managing your Jira ticket queue, participating in on-call rotation, and configuring and utilizing Nagios, New Relic, Grafana and other performance monitoring, troubleshooting and alerting tools. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to help us design and build out our next version model for managing Cloud Infrastructure more flexibly and responsively. You’ll get to explore a variety of Cloud tools and technologies such as serverless computing, machine learning and containers, etc. as we expand our usage of them. Self-motivation and ability to learn on the job is vital to your success. You will be fanatical about customer satisfaction, possess the ability and desire to master new and relevant technologies, and be able to effectively translate these into your daily responsibilities. In this role you should be comfortable taking ownership over small projects with minimal direction. What we’re looking for: This position requires flexibility to work additional hours and be on-call when necessary. In addition, the ideal candidate will have: 5+ years of IT/DevOps experience Experience with at least one Linux distribution is required, Ubuntu is preferred Some background with Chef is required Basic understanding of managing an IaaS/PaaS is required; familiarity with Amazon Web Services is required. Azure or Google Cloud Platform exposure is a plus Some experience with AWS CloudFormation is a must Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, including on-call and after-hour support Experience as primary point of contact and demonstrated expertise interacting with with Software Engineering teams Experience with system implementations and process improvements Effective communication and problem-solving skills Technical Skills: This positions requires journeyman level skills in most of these technologies: Database administration of one platform (Oracle, MySQL) Deployment and version control software such as Jenkins, TravisCI, AWS CodeDeploy, Capistrano and Git Scripting familiarity in Bash, Ruby, or Python Monitor and alarming software like Nagios and New Relic Log aggregation and and analysis tools like Sumo Logic or Splunk Knowledge of Ruby on Rails and apache In addition, you must share our company values—practicing the Golden Rule, taking Ownership and driving and embracing Innovation.
