Job Description

Alma is seeking a Sr. DevOps Engineer for an exciting opportunity to join our small, fast-paced team in Portland, OR.

The responsibilities of this position include a mix of current environment enhancements and new project work. The ideal candidate can work independently while performing as part of a team of both DevOps and QA Engineers.

We’re looking for passionate, dedicated, quality-minded engineers who can:

  • Enhance our existing cloud infrastructure scalability and reliability
  • Implement complex solutions across a myriad of cloud infrastructure and application technologies
  • Can provide technical knowledge founded on experience to properly scope and define projects
  • Work effectively and efficiently with little supervision on projects of varying scope and complexity
  • Works well in a fast-paced work environment with the expectation of frequently delivering high-quality solutions.

Additionally, we highly value the following Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • 5 or more years of experience in AWS cloud services.
  • 5 or more years of experience with source control solutions
  • 5 or more years of experience with CI/CD solutions
  • 5 or more years with Linux
  • 5 or more years of experience with BASH scripting
  • 3 or more years of experience with Ruby Language
  • 2 or more years of experience with Terraform
  • 2 or more years of experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • 2 or more years of experience with JIRA or other ticket management systems
  • Experience with Packer and Vagrant
  • Infrastructure and Web Security experience in AWS 
  • Experience migrating monolithic services to micro-services
  • Experience with log aggregation solutions
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • Ubuntu Experience is a plus
  • PHP Experience is a plus
  • AWS Certification is a plus
