Job Description

INCATeh is looking for a DevOps  Engineer who will perform application deployments in test, stage and production environments using agile and DevOps principles for a robust database management system as part of a client site team in support of a DOD client.

 This position supports the mission for the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) under the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The DevOps Engineer must be able to serve as an integration engineer with responsibilities to design, analyze, and implement continuous deployments while ensuring high availability on production and pre-production systems. The engineer must work closely with the developers, civilian program office, quality assurance, and product owners/project managers to understand specific requirements. The DevOps engineer will analyze collected data using analytics and application monitoring tools and generate business reports and metrics for the customer. The engineer will provide production support, and troubleshoot production issues or alerts for applications, sites, and related infrastructure. Provide advice on Operating System and other system patches and updates on a regular basis, to ensure compliance with security or audit regulations of client environments. This role will troubleshoot both application and server related issues resulting from latest system updates/patches, security vulnerabilities, and performance in close interaction with DoD Client.

The engineer must assist the development team to implement and standardize automated testing across various applications (SonarQube, Cucumber, and/or Selenium).


  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.

  • 3+ Specialized experience in a development and production environment for a DoD Client.

  • Active SECRET level security clearance.

  • Experience and/or understanding of the following:

    • Windows operating systems

    • JIRA

    • Bitbucket and/or Git

    • JAWS and/or aXe

    • Jenkins

    • Maven and/or Ant

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written

  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum)

  • Strong, persuasive communication skills; ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers


  • Master’s Degree in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.

  • 5+ Specialized experience in a development and production environment for a DoD Client

  • Active TS/SCI with CI Poly.

  • Experience and/or understanding of the following:

    • C#, Java, JavaScript, and/or Python

    • Linux operating systems

    • SonarQube and/or Fortify

    • Cucumber, and/or Selenium

    • Confluence

  • Experience designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ArcGIS Runtime, and their associated APIs or interfaces.
